Maribel was born in Virginia, and raised there with her family. The details about her siblings are scarce. When she was young she was interested in working in the field of law as an attorney. In fact, when her high school graduation was over, she was accepted to the University of Virginia to pursue a major in German and a minor in Foreign Policy. The university is one of the oldest universities in the US with its roots dating back from 1819 which was the year that it was established by Thomas Jefferson, one of the authors of the Declaration of Independence. In Jefferson's Academical Village a UNESCO World Heritage Site is located, at the moment, the school offers over a dozen programmes. The campus central to the University sits on a total of approximately 1600 acres, and there are thousands more acres within its research parks, as well as its farm.
